How many students were enrolled in Appomattox County schools for 2023-24 school year?

There were 2,372 students enrolled in Appomattox County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 0.5% more than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

In terms of gender distribution, the student body in Appomattox County comprised 50% girls, with boys representing the remaining 50%.

Data also showed that white students made up 64.1% of the student body, the largest percentage in Appomattox County schools, followed by Black or African American students with 20.8%, 5.1% Hispanic students and 0.3% Asian students.

Appomattox County High School had the highest enrollment among Appomattox County's four schools in the 2023-24 school year, welcoming 718 students.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools have an average student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1, slightly better than the national average of 15:1. Minority students, primarily Hispanic and Black, make up 54% of the enrollment, while white students constitute 46%.
