WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Bob Good (VA-05) is introducing the Stand with Israel Resolution to express strong support for America's close friend and important ally. Good criticized President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for suggesting a ceasefire in Gaza, stating, "Instead of unequivocally backing our most important ally in the Middle East, President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have undermined Israel's efforts to defend itself by repeatedly suggesting there should be a ceasefire in Gaza."

Good emphasized the need for the United States to continue supporting Israel in their defense against Hamas terrorists who have targeted Israeli citizens, including women, children, and the elderly. He expressed pride in his colleagues in the House who stand with Israel.

The resolution calls for an end to U.S. funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and the termination of U.S. assistance to Palestinian entities, government officials, relief agencies, and NGOs until an independent and comprehensive investigation is completed.

Among the original cosponsors of the resolution are Rep. Ogles, Rep. Mace, Rep. Norman, Rep. Higgins, Rep. Posey, and others.

Support for the Stand with Israel Resolution comes from the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) and Advancing American Freedom. The resolution denounces calls for a ceasefire in Gaza and for the establishment of an independent state of Palestine.

The resolution is a response to the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel by Hamas, which resulted in the loss of over 1,200 Israeli lives. It was revealed that the attack was highly organized and involved United Nations employees with ties to Hamas. Additionally, a data center for a Hamas intelligence unit was discovered underneath an UNRWA facility in Gaza.

Furthermore, concerns were raised about the affiliation of UNRWA workers with Hamas, with reports indicating that 10% of all UNRWA workers were found to have ties to the terrorist organization.

Despite the State Department expressing support for the creation of an independent state of Palestine, the Stand with Israel Resolution aims to prioritize the support and defense of Israel in the ongoing conflict in the region.
