Lynchburg Public Library to Host Virginia Author, Rachel Beanland (April 6)

On Thursday, April 6 at 6:30 p.m., the Lynchburg Public Library, together with the Friends of the Lynchburg Public Library, will host Virginia author Rachel Beanland as she discusses her new book, The House is on Fire. The event will take place at the Main Library, 2315 Memorial Avenue, in the Community Meeting Room and is free and open to the public.

The novel follows four unforgettable individuals in the three days following the 1811 Richmond Theater fire, one of the country’s deadliest fires. Deeply researched and with characters based on real people, The House is on Fire is smart, propulsive historical fiction at its finest.

The event will include a reading by the author, book discussion and time for questions and answers. Copies of the book, as well as Beanland’s first novel, Florence Adler Swims Forever, will be available for purchase that evening.

For more information about this and other upcoming library events, call (434) 455-6330, click HERE, or follow the Lynchburg Public Library on Facebook and Instagram.
