Bedford County issued the following announcement on March 7
The Bedford County Treasurer’s Office is experiencing a backlog of processing mailed in tax payments partially due to a new tax system.
Please be patient and check your bank for when your checks are being cleared. Remember that as long as your envelope is postmarked 12/6/21 or before it will not be considered late.
We honor the postmark. We regret this delay but ask for your patience in this situation. They are working as diligently as possible to get caught up.
