Riveredge Trail Extension Grant Application – Public Meeting
Amherst County will hold a public meeting Tuesday, September 7th at 3:00 pm, in the Public Meeting Room to receive public comments regarding a proposed grant application to extend Riveredge Trail.
The County seeks to add another 5,200 feet of paved trail along the James River with a goal to connect Riveredge Park directly with the James River Heritage Trail. This project supports the County’s continuing effort to enhance residents access to safe walking, biking, outdoor recreation, and access to the James River. The County proposes to seek funding from the Virginia Department of Transportation Alternatives Transportation Set-Aside Program.
During the 3:00 pm Public Meeting participants will learn about the proposed location, preliminary cost estimates, the application process, and be provided the opportunity to comment directly on the proposed October 2021 application.
