Amherst County issued the following announcement on July 23

During their July 20, 2021 meeting, the Amherst County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution to end the local state of emergency that began in March 2020 due to COVID-19.

Amherst County Administration offices are now open and operating during their regular business hours of 8:30-5:00, Monday-Friday. Mask requirements have been lifted for vaccinated individuals, and social distancing is no longer used during public meetings.

Thanks to the efforts of Amherst County Public Schools and Amherst County Public Safety, many Amherst County residents received their vaccination early this spring.
