County of Amherst issued the following announcement on Jun. 10.
Household Hazard Waste Collection Day
Amherst County Public Works hosted the County’s first Household Hazard Waste Collection Day on Saturday, June 5. The event at Coolwell Park served 25 vehicles.
Amherst County Schools, Amherst County Public Works Department, and Amherst County Public Safety also took advantage of the opportunity to discard their household hazardous waste. Public Works plans to host another Household Hazard Waste Collection Day in October 2021. The fall event will determine if the event occurs twice a year or becomes an annual offering in future years. Information about the October event will be shared as soon as it is available.
