Bob Good, a current U.S. Congress member representing Virginia's 5th district, has recently shared his views on multiple topics through a series of tweets. As someone who succeeded Denver Riggleman in 2021, Good has been vocal about his stance on religious recognition, economic reforms, and spending priorities.
On April 15, Good remarked on the global challenges faced by Christians. Citing the significance of Christian observances, he noted, "As we celebrate the atoning death & resurrection of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, we recognize that in many places around the world today, a person’s Christian faith can literally cost them everything."
On the same day, at a later time, Good expressed concern over the federal fiscal management, particularly targeting Social Security and Medicare. He voiced his disapproval of the lack of discourse on these issues among Washington lawmakers by posting, "Anyone in Washington not talking about reforming SS & Medicare along with other badly needed spending cuts is incompetent, dishonest, or just doesn’t care about the nation’s or our children’s fiscal future."
A few days later, on April 18, Good turned his attention to Medicaid and the broader issue of entitlement programs which he believes are contributing to the national deficit. His statement criticized both liberals and certain Republicans, stating that "Liberals & GOP hand-wringers can probably stop fretting about Medicaid…too many R’s lack the principle, conviction, or courage to address the deficit-driving entitlement program."
Bob Good's public service career includes a tenure on the Campbell County Board of Supervisors from 2016 to 2019, and he holds degrees from Liberty University.
