There were 768 Black students enrolled in Amherst County Public Schools District in the 2023-24 school year, 2.4% more than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Data showed that Amherst County Public Schools District welcomed 3,965 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, Black students comprised 19.4% of the student body to be the second most represented ethnicity in the school.

Amherst County Public Schools District roughly covers schools within Amherst County and has a main office in Amherst.

Among the nine schools in Amherst County Public Schools District, Amherst County High School recorded the highest enrollment of Black students in the 2023-24 school year.
