Men’s Tennis Shuts Out Mary Baldwin 9-0
The Randolph men's tennis team returned to action on Monday afternoon as they faced Mary Baldwin. The WildCats defeated the Fighting Squirrels 9-0.
Nicolas Alvarado (Santiago, Chile/Colegio Olimpo) and Dev Mani (Bangladore, India/St. Claret PU College) won at first doubles 8-1. Second doubles saw Angelo De Asis (Clayton, N.C./Cleveland HS) and Jose Merhej (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) shut out Noah Knick and Adrian Santiago 8-0. Max Karrass (Ratingen, Germany/Theodor-Heuss Gymnasium) and Luke Mosley (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) held off Luis Monjes and Adian Reyes 8-5.
Alvarado was a 6-1, 6-0 winner over Connor Lindhjem. Mani defeated Eric Leyton 6-2, 6-1. De Asis and Merhej were both 6-1, 6-1 victors in their respective matches. Karrass defeated Knick 6-3, 6-2 at fifth singles and Mosley 6-1, 6-1 over Reyes. It was Karrass and Moseley's first collegiate victories.
Randolph returns to ODAC play on Wednesday when they take on Bridgewater. Match time is at 3:30 p.m.
