County of Amherst issued the following announcement on Jan. 5
Amherst County would like to welcome Waylon Meeks to our staff. Waylon will be joining the Community Development Department, working as a building inspector.
As a building inspector, Waylon will be performing inspections to ensure new and remodeled buildings comply with the Uniform Statewide Building Code and local ordinances. Other duties include assuring that buildings are constructed according to approved plans to ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of Amherst County residents and guests.
Waylon Meeks is from Lowesville, VA, and spent many years working in his family’s construction business. He also brings to the job 19 years of experience with VDOT and time in the Amherst County Maintenance Department.
