Women’s Tennis Shuts Out Ferrum 5-0

Randolph College Athletic Department issued the following announcement on March 9

The Randolph women’s tennis team moved their match indoors as they faced Ferrum in a conference match on Wednesday afternoon. The WildCats won 5-0 as the team played to the first to win five matches.

The WildCats led 3-0 after the doubles matches. Zeinab Elkhansa (Charleston, W.V./George Washington) and Valentina Santos (Valencia, Venezuela) won 8-2 over Megan Scott and Esme Atkinson at #1 doubles. Cassidy Bell (Monroe, Va./Amherst County) and Sabrina Dickerson (Brookneal, Va.) were 8-2 winners over the pair of Madison Wright and Morgan Hundley at #2 doubles. Jenna Fink (Madison Heights, Va./Amherst) and Bailey Livingston (Evington, Va.) shut out the duo of Emma Loughrey and Mary Mason 8-0.

Two matches were finished in singles play. Santos was a 6-3, 6-0 winner over Scott at #1. Fink won her #6 singles match 6-0, 6-0 over Mason.

Randolph travels to Guilford to face the Quakers on Saturday. Match time is at 1:00 p.m.
