Delegate Wendell Walker, a Republican representing Virginia’s 52nd House district, has recently used his social media platform to comment on several issues facing the state, including the budget impasse, law enforcement memorials, and collective bargaining legislation.
On May 12, 2026, Walker posted: “49 days until Virginia Democrats hit the shutdown button on schools, roads, law enforcement, and Medicaid payments over their failure to pass a budget… but who’s counting? “.
The following day, May 13, he shared his participation in a local police memorial event: “On Monday, I joined @LynchburgPolice for the Regional Police Memorial Service honoring officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. We especially remembered the four Lynchburg Police officers who lost their lives protecting our city during the department’s first”.
Later that same day, Walker addressed proposed collective bargaining measures: “Collective bargaining would’ve unleashed the single largest tax increase in Virginia history. I’m glad to see it headed for a veto. This is a huge win for taxpayers, local governments, and every Virginian already struggling with rising costs.”
Walker was elected to represent Virginia’s 52nd House district in 2024 after replacing previous state representative Luke Torian. His recent statements come as the General Assembly faces ongoing debates over fiscal policy and labor legislation.
