Congressman Bob Good (VA-05) visited the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) pilot program facilities in Danville, Virginia. ATDM is a prototype training platform to rapidly train skilled workers in key trades such as CNC machining and welding for employment in the defense industry. Adults who enter the program have varying educational and workplace experiences, and through the program coursework earn the skills necessary to make an immediate impact in the defense industrial base. Students of the ATDM program also earn nationally recognized credentials upon completion of the 16-week program.
"I am proud of the mission of the ATDM program which will help us more rapidly equip and deploy our military to combat global threats like Communist China. I also support increased investment in a strong American workforce that strengthens our abilities to manufacture here at home. Ensuring the safety and security of America should be the top priority of the federal government, including maintaining robust defense manufacturing capabilities, protecting our Southern Border, and reinstating energy independence," said Congressman Good.
