Sweet Briar College issued the following announcement on Feb. 25

Sweet Briar College is thrilled to welcome Robin Wall Kimmerer on March 23, 2022, for a special in-person (and livestream) presentation on her book “Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants.”

In addition to this feature event, Sweet Briar is hosting a series of events that complement the themes of the book and align with the College’s focus on sustainability, creativity and the arts. We invite the public to join us and experience both a powerful presentation and our beautiful campus through immersive programs with faculty and guest artists.

Robin’s presentation on March 23 takes place at 7:30 p.m. in the Murchison Lane Auditorium in the Babcock Fine Arts Center. The series is sponsored by Sweet Briar’s Center for Creativity, Design and the Arts and the Center for Human and Environmental Sustainability.

Karen is a member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin and a Haudenosaunee beadwork artist. She will showcase and talk about her work, followed by a complimentary luncheon. This event is free.

Vineyard Walk with Lisa Powell

Enjoy a 45-minute walk and talk with Lisa Powell, environmental science professor and director of the Center for Human and Environmental Sustainability. $10
