Town of Altavista issued the following announcement on Sept. 21
UTILITY DISCOUNT PROGRAM
The Town of Altavista offers residential utility relief to customers who qualify and file an annual application.
Eligible Town of Altavista residential utility customers can receive a discount of 30% of the “base fee” that is applied to their quarterly utility (water/sewer) bills, if they meet an age qualification, an income test, and a net worth test. The utility account must be in the name of the occupant of the residence.
This is the second year of the utility relief program The program will be effective with the billing period that begins December 1st (bills will be received in early April).
If you are a homeowner and have qualified for Campbell County Real Estate Tax Relief, you may already be eligible for this discount.
