City of Lynchburg issued the following announcement on Aug. 24
Beginning Monday, September 6 and continuing through Friday, September 10, 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. daily, a portion of Main Street (at Washington Street) will be reduced to one lane to accommodate overhead fiber optic installation.
Motorists should expect delays and use caution while traveling through the work zone, be alert to the changes in traffic patterns and obey temporary signage. Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.
