City of Lynchburg recently issued the following announcement.
Beginning Tuesday, June 8 and continuing for approximately three weeks, the intersection of Eighth and Harrison Streets will be closed to accommodate utility construction through the intersection. A detour will be in place to route traffic from Eighth Street to 11th Street.
The intersection will be closed to through traffic on Harrison Street, and the 4-way intersection will be closed with barricades for the duration of the project.
Emergency vehicles, as well as GLTC and Lynchburg City School buses, will not have access through the intersection.
