Cost of college went up for all students at Centra College of Nursing

Tuition and fees rose 16.8 percent for 2018-19 at Centra College of Nursing, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Virginia students paid $12,301 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,773 more than the $10,528 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 80 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 9 students received grants or scholarships totaling $42,060 and 12 students took out student loans totaling more than $61,232.

Including all undergraduates (369), 257 students used grants or scholarships totaling $768,159, and 286 students took out $1.9 million in federal student loans.
