56 percent of applicants to Liberty University were admitted for fall 2018

At Liberty University, 55 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 58 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Lynchburg enrolled 79,152 students in fall 2018, including 45,935 in undergraduate and 33,217 in graduate programs, data shows. 10.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

25 percent of undergraduates are residents of Virginia, and 71 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (52 percent) and Black or African American (11 percent).

The school admitted 56 percent of the 29,010 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 29 percent enrolled.
