The Randolph men’s soccer team hosted Eastern Mennonite on Saturday evening at WildCat Stadium on Senior Night. The WildCats scored three times in the second half to break the game open as they went on to defeat the Royals 4-1.

The win evens Randolph’s overall record at 6-6-2 and improves their ODAC mark to 3-5-1. The Royals drops to 1-9-6 overall and 0-5-4 in the conference.

The WildCats already had three shots in the game before Eastern Mennonite registered its first. On Randolph’s four shot, Isaac Carney (Charleston, W.V./Homeschool) took a throw in and passed into the middle to Brian Kuhl (Giessen, Germany/James Monroe) who headed the ball into the back of the net to give the ‘Cats the 1-0 lead in the 19th minute.

EMU was held to one shot on goal in the period. Randolph had a chance in the 42nd minute to increase its lead but Cooper Sayles’ (Hamilton, Va./Loudon Valley) shot went off the right of the post.

In the second half, EMU got the equalizer in the 57th minute. A shot by Logan Darrow was pushed out by WildCat keeper Zach Aylor (Vinton, Va./William Byrd) but the rebound found its way to Ethan McGee who would put it away and in to tie the game up at 1-1.

The Royals found new life and looked to take the lead. The WildCats would have none of that. On a free kick from the left side of the field, Noah Carney’s (Charleston, W.V./Homeschool) shot made its way through a line of defenders and into the right side of the net to give Randolph a 2-1 advantage.

Late in the 75th minute, Rhajee Scarlett’s (Atlanta, Ga./Rosewell) shot attempt was stopped by Royals goalie Andrew Arledfe and came back out where Sayles sent the rebound back in for a 3-1 WildCat lead. Randolph ended the scoring with a Colby Lambert (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) goal in the 85th minute to make it 4-1.

Randolph led 18-8 in total shots over Eastern Mennonite and 10-4 in shots on goal. Corner kicks were in the WildCats’ favor 12-5.

Aylor finished the night with three saves. Arledge had six saves for the Royals.

Randolph will host its final home of the season on Wednesday night against Averett. Game time will be at 7:00 p.m.
