The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the Town of Altavista Comprehensive Plan on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 5:00 pm in Council Chambers at Town Hall.
The purpose of this public hearing is to consider an update to the Town’s Comprehensive Plan pursuant to Section 86-782(a) of the Town of Altavista Zoning Ordinance. The Comprehensive Plan is the Town’s most important document regarding growth, development, and change. It establishes government policy to help guide public and private activities as they relate to land use and resource utilization and is the basis for land development regulations and decisions. The Code of Virginia requires that this plan be reviewed every 5 years.
