Mobile Fine Arts Museum Comes to Amherst

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) on the Road: An Artmobile for the 21st Century is visiting Amherst March 14-16. The Artmobile is parked in the Second Stage Parking Lot at 194 2nd street in the Town of Amherst. Its current exhibit is Revealing and Obscuring Identity: Portraits from the Permanent Collection. The collection contains portraits by more than ten artists and explores the shift in portrait art over the decades. The 53-foot trailer offers Wi-Fi so visitors can connect with VMFA educators and interactive components of the exhibit. Entry to the Artmobile is free.
