Men’s Basketball Selected 10th in ODAC Poll

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced its 2022 Men’s Basketball Preseason Poll on Thursday morning. The WildCats were picked 10th in the 13-team league and totaled 44 points.

Defending ODAC and National Champion Randolph-Macon was picked to defend its conference title as it received 142 points and 10 first place votes. Roanoke was second with 127 points and three first place votes. Guilford follows in third place with 115 points. The fourth through sixth positions are just five points apart with Virginia Wesleyan (107), Hampden-Sydney (103) and Washington and Lee (102). The full poll can be viewed below.

The WIldCats have three of their top scorers from a year ago return led by senior Danny Bickey who averaged just over 14 points a game. Also returning are junior Jordan Phillips-McLoyd (11.7) and graduate student Jerry Goodman (10.7).

Randolph’s 2022-23 season begins November 8 when the WildCats host North Carolina Wesleyan. The ODAC opener is November 27 at Randolph-Macon.
