The Liberty Flames will begin a three-game Conference USA baseball series against the New Mexico State Aggies in Las Cruces, New Mexico, starting May 1. The games will take place at Presley Askew Field and be broadcast on ESPN+.

This series marks the start of the final month of regular season play for Liberty. The team has performed strongly throughout April with a 13-4 record and now holds second place in the conference standings after recent wins against Delaware and Charlotte.

Liberty has excelled on the road this season, compiling a 14-5 away record, which ranks as the seventh best nationally. With six road games remaining in their schedule, they are set to play a total of 25 away games this year. Last season, Liberty finished with a 10-14 road record.

Head coach Bradley LeCroy is leading the team through his second season at Liberty and recently reached his 100th career coaching victory following a win over Hofstra on March 1. Under LeCroy’s leadership, Liberty has achieved an overall record of 62-40 during his tenure.

Pitchers Ben Blair and Bradley Zayac have been recognized among college baseball’s top performers as semifinalists for the National Pitcher of the Year Award by the College Baseball Foundation. Blair holds a 6-3 record with a 2.94 earned run average over more than sixty-seven innings pitched this season. He is ranked among national leaders in several pitching categories including strikeout-to-walk ratio and walks allowed per nine innings. Zayac enters this weekend’s series undefeated at 6-0 with a 3.09 earned run average across ten starts.

Looking ahead, both teams aim to strengthen their positions within Conference USA as postseason play approaches.
