Liberty University Athletics issued the following announcement on March 10

Liberty will play a pair of non-conference games in California over the weekend, taking on UC Davis and California.

The Lady Flames (3-3) will face UC Davis (2-2), Friday at 6 p.m. Eastern (3 p.m. Pacific) at UC Davis Health Stadium in Davis, Calif. Liberty will take on Cal, Sunday afternoon. Game time is 3 p.m. Eastern (noon Pacific) at FTX Field at California Memorial Stadium in Berkeley, Calif.

Liberty is coming off a 14-6 home setback to No. 12 Florida, Wednesday afternoon. The UC Davis Aggies fell 17-13 at Colorado, last Sunday in their most recent game. The Cal Golden Bears lost 16-5 at home to UC Davis, Feb. 26 in their most recent contest.

Lady Flames News and Notes
• Friday’s Liberty-UC Davis game will be second ever meeting between the two squads but first since 2010. The Aggies hold the 1-0 series edge.
• Liberty and Cal will be squaring off for the first time.
• The Lady Flames are the national leader in caused turnovers per game at 15.50 per contest. Liberty generated 18 caused turnovers against No. 12 Florida, Wednesday. Defender Mikayla Coghill led the way with career bests in caused turnovers (6) and ground balls (7).
• Coghill ranks seventh in the nation in caused turnovers per game (2.33) and 32nd in ground balls per game (2.83). Redshirt senior defender Hannah Quast is also No. 7 in the nation in caused turnovers per game (2.33) and No. 32 in ground balls per game (2.83).
• Liberty ranks second nationally in ground balls per game (23.00). The Lady Flames are also No. 8 in the country in shots on goals per game (26.17) and No. 12 in shots per game (33.67).
• This is Liberty’s first trip to California since the Lady Flames played at San Diego State on March 23, 2018.
