Liberty University is scheduled to play against No. 13 Virginia Tech on April 22 at Tech Softball Park in Blacksburg, Virginia. The game will begin at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on ACC Network Xtra and LFSN Radio.

This matchup comes after Virginia Tech defeated Liberty 9-0 last week in Lynchburg, marking the third consecutive meeting where the Hokies have outscored the Lady Flames by a combined total of 24-0 dating back to last season.

Liberty is still seeking its first win over a Top 25 team this season. Historically, the Lady Flames have averaged three wins per year against nationally ranked opponents since the start of the 2018 campaign. Currently, Liberty holds a tie with Western Kentucky University for second place in Conference USA standings and has shown resilience with eight comeback victories this year—five when trailing in the sixth inning or later and two when down in the seventh.

The Lady Flames’ offense features four players batting .300 or better, led by freshman Dani Lee with a .354 average, while Alexia Carrasquillo leads in home runs (10) and runs batted in (37). Maci Strickland was named Conference USA Freshman of the Week for her performance last week and enters this game with a six-game hitting streak.

Virginia Tech enters this contest after losing a home series to Georgia Tech but remains strong statistically within their conference and nationally, ranking among top teams for doubles, batting average, home runs, runs per game, and team earned run average.
