The Liberty Flames baseball team will travel to Blacksburg, Virginia, for a game against the Virginia Tech Hokies at English Field on April 7. The matchup is set for 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.

This game marks the conclusion of Liberty’s five-game road trip. Last year, Liberty won both meetings with Virginia Tech and has claimed victory in each of their last three encounters.

Liberty enters the week riding a seven-game winning streak after sweeping a three-game Conference USA series at Western Kentucky. The Flames have achieved a 10-3 record on the road this season and have won six of their last seven away games, including four straight victories during this current trip.

Head coach Bradley LeCroy is in his second season leading the team and has guided them to a 48-35 record during his tenure. LeCroy earned his 100th career coaching win when Liberty defeated Hofstra 10-7 on March 1.

Shortstop Tanner Marsh has been an offensive leader for the Flames this season, posting a .339 batting average along with team highs in runs (29), hits (33), RBI (27), and slugging percentage (.551). Marsh was named to the CUSA Preseason All-Conference Team alongside pitcher Ben Blair and has started every game at shortstop since joining Liberty in 2024.

Left fielder Nick Barone had a strong month of March, hitting .348 with 17 RBI and going perfect in stolen bases attempts for the month. Barone hit two home runs over the weekend against Western Kentucky, including a grand slam that helped secure a come-from-behind win.

Since returning from injury on March 7, Jordan Jaffe has contributed significantly to Liberty’s lineup by hitting .329 with twelve RBI over nineteen games while occupying third spot in the batting order.
