Virginia Western Community College issued the following announcement on Jan. 14

Unfortunately, due to impending inclement weather, in-person volunteer activities for Virginia Western’s MLK Day of Service on Monday January 17th have been cancelled. However, we are still honoring Dr. King Jr with our virtual MLK Day Commemoration Zoom Session at 8:00am. I’ll be speaking along with former VWCC Educational Foundation Board member Rev. Dr. William Lee.

I invite you to attend the Zoom session with me. If you have not already done so, please register at https://vccs.zoom.us/…/tZIucOirrT4oEtKRcKXzl3kUtKhUPlHt… .

As you know, diversity is a key college value. I hope you have a wonderful day off on Monday, and enjoy your commemoration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, whether with the college or on your own.
