Delegate Wendell Walker, a Republican representing the 23rd District in the Virginia House of Delegates, recently shared updates on several community events in Lynchburg through his social media posts.
On September 12, 2025, Walker expressed appreciation for civic engagement at a local forum, stating, “I was glad to join my fellow Republican candidates last night at the Lynchburg Voters League & NAACP #7088 Candidate Forum. Thank you to everyone who came out to discuss the issues that matter most and hear how we’re delivering real results for Lynchburg!”
The following day, he highlighted a milestone for a local veterans’ organization after overcoming adversity. On September 13, 2025, Walker wrote, “What an incredible turnout last night as we celebrated the grand opening of the Spirit of Virginia Arena at @HealthyVetsNCHV! After a devastating fire last year, they have risen from the ashes and shown true resilience. “
Walker also attended a community gathering focused on faith and outreach. On September 14, 2025, he posted about an event hosted by Thomas Road Baptist Church (TRBC), saying, “No one went hungry last night at Beast Feast! It was a packed house at @TRBC with a large crowd and a great message from Adam Weatherby, CEO of Weatherby Inc. But most importantly, we saw so many salvation decisions made. Praise the Lord!”
Lynchburg has been active in organizing forums and events that encourage civic participation and support for local organizations. The Spirit of Virginia Arena’s reopening follows significant recovery efforts after suffering damage from a fire in 2024. Community events such as those hosted by Thomas Road Baptist Church often attract large crowds and feature guest speakers from national organizations.
Walker’s involvement reflects ongoing engagement by local elected officials in supporting civic dialogue and community resilience.
