Congressman John McGuire, representing Virginia’s 5th Congressional District, shared several updates on his official social media account on August 20, 2025.
In a post made early in the day, McGuire commented on international affairs and former President Donald Trump’s foreign policy. He wrote, “.@POTUS deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. Even Putin admitted there would be no war if Trump was in power. Only President Trump could get these two together to talk peace.” (August 20, 2025).
Later that afternoon, McGuire reported visiting local emergency response facilities in Wintergreen. He stated, “Yesterday, I had the pleasure of touring the emergency response facilities at Wintergreen and meet the first responders who keep Wintergreen safe. Meeting the staff and volunteers of Wintergreen Police and Fire & Rescue was truly inspiring. Thank you Police Chief Dennis Russell” (August 20, 2025).
That evening, McGuire posted about meeting Peyton Sellers in Danville and learning more about his family business’s role in the regional economy: “Ran into local celebrity Peyton Sellers and was given a tour of his family operated business in Danville. RBW has taken a special interest in operation in VA-05, and I’m excited to see what new innovations they will bring to the national automobile market. Thank you for the tour!” (August 20, 2025).
