Congressman John McGuire, who represents Virginia’s 5th Congressional District, shared several updates on his social media account in early September 2025.
On September 7, McGuire posted a birthday message to a local religious leader: “Happy Birthday, Pastor Jonathan Falwell! Thank you for your inspiring leadership at Thomas Road Baptist Church and Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Your family’s unwavering commitment to guiding people to Christ is truly remarkable. I was deeply honored by your kind”.
The following day, on September 8, McGuire highlighted his visit to a local emergency service provider: “Yesterday, I took time to stop by & get a tour of Manakin Company 1 Goochland Volunteer Fire & Rescue.”
Later that same day, he recognized Suicide Prevention Month with a public health message: “September is Suicide Prevention Month. Life is a miracle and it must be protected. If you or anyone you know needs support, please reach out right now. Call or text 988, you’re not alone, and trained professionals are ready to help you heal.”
September has been designated as National Suicide Prevention Month in the United States to raise awareness about suicide prevention resources and encourage individuals struggling with mental health issues to seek help through services such as the national 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
