Congressman John McGuire, a U.S. Representative from Virginia, recently used his social media platform to highlight legislative efforts and community engagement activities in August 2025.

On August 21, 2025, McGuire referenced the passage of major border security legislation, stating: “Nov 6th 2024, America asked for a secure border & The One Big Beautiful Bill Act delivered on that by: Providing the necessary resources to ensure our border stays secure. Allocating more than $46 billion to construct & FINISH the southern border wall. Hiring 3,000 new”. This post refers to a significant legislative package aimed at enhancing U.S. border security through increased funding and personnel.

The following day, on August 22, McGuire shared details about meetings with local organizations focused on public safety: “I met the Leesville Lake Association, Rappahannock Electric, & Appalachian Power Company. I appreciated listening to their concerns about public safety.” These interactions reflect ongoing communication between federal representatives and regional stakeholders regarding infrastructure and safety issues.

Later that same day, McGuire highlighted his visit to a local nonprofit organization: “The AGAPE Center of Lynchburg has some of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. Hearing about the services they provide, from mentorship to clothing for those in need. It was truly heartwarming, especially knowing it’s all done by volunteers!” The AGAPE Center is known for its volunteer-driven support services for individuals facing hardship in Lynchburg.

Congressman John McGuire represents Virginia’s 5th congressional district and has served since January 2025 after winning election in November 2024.
