Carney Named to Academic All-District Men’s Soccer Team

On Tuesday, College Sports Communicators released its 2022 Academic All-District Men’s Soccer Team which recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Randolph was represented by Isaac Carney (Charleston, W.V./Homeschool). He is the third WildCat to be named to the All-District team joining Kyle May (2021) and Brian Anderson (2016).

Carney started 15 games for the WildCats with his 1,142 minutes played ranking third on the team. He scored two goals and added an assist notching a game-winner at Greensboro.

An Engineering Physics major, Carney is a physics and music tutor. He was named to the 2022 ODAC All-Academic Team and the Virginia SID Academic All-State Team. He is President of the Sigma Pi Sigma Chapter at Randolph. A SUPER student, he is a Presidential Ambassador, a member of the President’s Strategic Planning Research Committee, and a campus tour guide.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December. The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
