Buddy Jennings Joins County Staff as Building Inspector

Amherst County would like to welcome Buddy Jennings to our team of building inspectors. After working for the Amherst County Building Maintenance Department for 27 years, Buddy recently joined the Community Development Department, to start a new career as a building inspector. He is looking forward to serving the county where he grew up in a new way. Buddy currently lives in Amherst County with his wife, Glenda Wray, who works for the Amherst County Public Library.

As a building inspector, Buddy will be performing inspections to ensure new and remodeled buildings comply with the Uniform Statewide Building Code and local ordinances. Other duties include assuring that buildings are constructed according to approved plans to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of Amherst County residents and guests.
