Bob Good, U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 5th district since 2021, used his social media account on August 12, 2025 to voice concerns about political transparency in Washington, legislative processes in Congress, and federal attitudes toward marijuana policy.

In a post published at 13:18 UTC, Good promoted a discussion with fellow lawmaker Eli Crane regarding the internal workings of Congress and national issues. He wrote: “What’s really happening behind closed doors in Washington? @RepEliCrane @EliCraneAZ joins me to expose the political games in DC, the truth about the border crisis, and why real accountability is long overdue.”

Later that day at 14:11 UTC, Good addressed concerns over congressional procedures and government incentives for gambling. He stated: “While this illustrates the problem with Congress passing bills they DON’T EVEN READ…why should govt incentivize & subsidize gambling?!?!”

At 20:41 UTC on August 12, Good commented on former President Donald Trump’s reported openness to marijuana reform policies. He posted: “Disappointing, if not surprising, that Trump would even consider making marijuana more acceptable in this country. When has more marijuana made a country “great again“?”

Bob Good succeeded Denver Riggleman as representative of Virginia’s 5th district in 2021 and previously served on the Campbell County Board of Supervisors from 2016 to 2019. He was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in 1965 and currently resides in Lynchburg.
