Bob Good, U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 5th district since 2021, recently used his social media platform to comment on immigration policy and internal Republican party decisions in Washington.

On July 24, 2025, Good posted: “Trump floated amnesty. Biden opened the floodgates. Who’s really fighting for our borders? I expose the truth about immigration, amnesty, and why America’s sovereignty is on the line. Listen now: https://t.co/w2uuEuf0IB”.

Two days later, on July 26, 2025, Good criticized a recent leadership decision within his party: “Classic example of the weak Republican party system in Washington: the highly qualified outstanding conservative Rep. Clay Higgins (LA) is passed over for unqualified moderate squish Andrew Garbarino (NY) for chairman of House Committee on Homeland Security. Merit doesn’t matter.”

Shortly after that post on the same day, he shared a call to action regarding House leadership procedures: “Conservatives Call on House Leadership To Dissolve or Reform the Chairmanship Selection Process – Conservative Action Project https://t.co/HLKu9qSvCV”.

Good has represented Virginia’s 5th district in Congress since defeating Denver Riggleman in 2021 and previously served on the Campbell County Board of Supervisors from 2016 to 2019. He was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in 1965 and currently resides in Lynchburg. Good holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Liberty University.

These statements reflect ongoing debates within Congress about border security policies as well as broader concerns among some Republicans regarding committee leadership selection processes.
