Bob Good, U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 5th district since 2021, addressed concerns about liberty and the Republican Party’s challenges in a series of tweets posted on August 25 and 26, 2025.

On August 25, Good commented on the risks to individual freedoms posed by trusted leaders, stating: “The Founders knew that the greatest threat to our liberty was at the hands of those we trust the most.”

Continuing his commentary on political issues facing Republicans ahead of the 2026 elections, Good wrote on August 26: “Republicans face a critical test ahead of 2026. From rigged redistricting to election integrity battles, will the GOP rise to the occasion, or cave to pressure? Good has represented Virginia’s 5th District in Congress since replacing Denver Riggleman in 2021. Before his tenure in Congress, he served on the Campbell County Board of Supervisors from 2016 to 2019. Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in 1965, Good currently resides in Lynchburg.
