Bob Good, U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 5th district since 2021, posted a series of statements on October 3, 2025, expressing criticism of the federal workforce and recent policy developments related to mail-order abortion.
In a post at 11:26 a.m., Good questioned the impact of potential federal layoffs, stating: “16,000 layoffs? There are millions of federal employees, 80% of whom were “working from home” as of January. Cut hundreds of thousands & don’t bring ‘em back in a deal with Dems!”
Minutes later, he commented on public awareness around government shutdowns and reiterated his call for reducing government spending: “Most Americans wouldn’t even know there was a shutdown if media & politicians weren’t obsessively talking about it. Cut the federal workforce. Cut spending.”
Later that day at 9:51 p.m., Good addressed changes in access to mail-order abortion under the Food and Drug Administration: “Trump’s FDA is making mail-order abortion cheaper & more accessible. The #1 cause of death in America includes significant health risk for the mothers taking these pills at home. Shame on politicians who value “winning” more than protecting life.”
Bob Good has served in Congress since defeating Denver Riggleman in 2021 and previously held office on the Campbell County Board of Supervisors from 2016 to 2019. He was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in 1965 and currently resides in Lynchburg.
