Bob Good, a U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 5th district since 2021, posted several updates on his social media accounts in mid-April 2026 addressing legislative developments and political alignments within the House of Representatives.
On April 16, Good commented on the passage of H.R. 1689, writing: “Carey-OH, Turner-OH & McCormick-GA joined all Dems for final passage, making it 11 “Republicans” in what became H.R. 1689—Haiti First!” The statement refers to Republican representatives from Ohio and Georgia who voted with Democrats for the bill’s final passage.
Later that day, he posted a brief update about upcoming political events: “The Road to November: Looking Ahead https://t.co/PCjlFzfzqv”, signaling attention toward the forthcoming election cycle.
On April 17, Good acknowledged specific members of his party who opposed reauthorizations of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), stating: “Thank you to the 6 House R’s who withstood the pressure early this morning and voted against BOTH the 5 yr & 18-mo FISA reauthorizations w/out sufficient reforms: Andy Harris MD, Thomas Massie KY, Andy Ogles TN, Scott Perry PA, John Rose TN & Keith Self TX”.
Bob Good succeeded Denver Riggleman as representative for Virginia’s 5th district in 2021 and previously served on the Campbell County Board of Supervisors from 2016 to 2019. Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in 1965, Good currently resides in Lynchburg.
