Amherst County issued the following announcement on Feb.

The Amherst County Agriculture Committee assists the Board of Supervisors by providing information, advice, recommendations and reports in the areas of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry or other plant and animal based production industries found in Amherst County, including agri-tourism. Members represent all agricultural disciplines and/or support industries with responsibilities including planning for future county fairs. The Committee consists of none (9) members serving three (3) year terms. There is currently one (1) vacancy on the Agriculture Committee.

If you are interested in serving on the Amherst County Agriculture Committee, please apply by letter stating your name, address, contact number and qualifications.
