Liberty Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Lance Bingham announced the Flames’ 2022-23 indoor track & field schedule today, featuring five home meets at the Brant Tolsma Indoor Track at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.

Home Sweet Home
The seventh season of competition at the Brant Tolsma Indoor Track at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex will see the Flames host the season-opening Liberty Kickoff (Dec. 1-2), third annual Brant Tolsma Invitational (Jan. 19-21), Liberty Open (Feb. 4), ninth annual Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational (Feb. 10-11) and the ASUN Indoor Track & Field Championships (Feb. 24-25).

The Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational has developed into a high-level meet during its near decade of existence, especially in the distance events. Last season, four men clocked sub-4:00 miles at the meet.

In its final season as an ASUN Conference member, Liberty will play host to the ASUN Indoor Track & Field championships for the sixth consecutive year.

On the Road
The Flames’ pair of road competitions during the regular season will be the same as during the 2021-22 campaign. Liberty will compete at the Virginia Tech Invitational (Jan. 13-14 in Blacksburg, Va.) and the Bob Pollock Invitational (Jan. 27-28 in Clemson, S.C.).

About Albuquerque
The 2023 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships will take place at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, N.M. The facility played host to the 2014 NCAA meet and was scheduled to do so again in 2020 before the meet was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Still to Come
Liberty’s 2023 outdoor track & field schedule is still under construction and will be announced during the coming weeks and months.

However, the final portion of the schedule is set at this point, including the Liberty Twilight Qualifier (May 3), ASUN Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 11-13 in Jacksonville, Fla.), NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round (May 24-27 in Jacksonville, Fla.) and NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships (June 7-10 in Austin, Texas).
